Safety and SWMS
TradeForm keeps your site safety paperwork in one place, tied to the same projects you already run.
Write a SWMS
A Safe Work Method Statement sets out the high-risk work on a job, the hazards, and the controls. Create a SWMS for the activity, list the steps and the controls for each one, and keep it against the project. When the method changes, update the SWMS so the version on site is the current one.
Run a sign-on
Before work starts, the crew signs on to confirm they have read the SWMS and understood the controls. Sign-ons are recorded with a name and a timestamp, so you have proof of who was briefed and when.
Keep your records
Safety records stay with the project for the life of the job. If a regulator or a principal contractor asks for your paperwork, it is already gathered against the right project rather than scattered across folders and phones.
Good practice
- Write the SWMS for the activity, not the whole job. One clear statement per high-risk activity is easier to follow.
- Re-sign when the method or the crew changes.
- Ask BuilderBot to summarise the controls on a SWMS if you need a quick refresher before a toolbox talk.
